Mediation is a voluntary out-of-court settlement of a conflict (dispute) through negotiations between the parties to the conflict, with the help of one or more mediators (neutral mediators), focusing on finding a mutually beneficial solution, taking into account the interests of the parties to the conflict.

The basic principles of Harvard negotiations are the key to the success of the mediation procedure in ISDM.

Mediation can be applied regardless of whether the case is in court.
